Dear 2011 PHS Drum Line Member,

This letter is intended to better inform you about our audition process in August  and give you a quick overview of Percussion Camp and Band Camp which occurs near the end of August. Included you’ll find information to make your summer practice more effective and beneficial in order to prepare for the 2011 Marching Band Season. You will also find important dates to include on your calendar.

The Portsmouth High School Drum Line strives each year to reach our goal of excellence in performance. However, this goal is not easily met. Being a member of the drum line requires a strong dedication to hard work and a trustworthiness to be personally accountable for your own excellence.

The goal during Percussion Camp is to have a practice routine schedule set, all important warm-ups memorized, multiple cadences memorized, and sight read through this year’s field show music. The goal during Band Camp is to memorize field show drill, begin memorizing field show music, and work on bleacher cadences.

                Here is a quick overview!!!
